Stephen M. Weiss
Biography
Mr. Weiss has had a long career practicing in the areas of criminal defense, personal injury law, and civil rights litigation involving police misconduct,. He has also handled many medical and other professional malpractice claims, property damage and toxic tort claims, as well as various civil matters.
In his criminal law practice, Mr. Weiss represented clients in all Arizona courts as well the United States District Court for the District of Arizona, and the United States Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. He has represented clients charged with a wide array of crimes, ranging from first-degree murder to federal anti-trust violations. He is a contributing author: "Family Violence, Conflict and Sexual Abuse," Shepard's, McGraw-Hill. Prior to entering private practice Mr. Weiss was a legal Aid Attorney with Papago Legal Services and served as a Deputy Pima County Attorney in the Criminal Division for three years.
Mr. Weiss is now retired from the practice of law and no longer represents individuals, but is available as an expert in criminal law matters, and as a mediator and arbitrator in personal injury and civil rights cases.
